Ambala: Four, including victim's brother, arrested in blind murder case

AMBALA: Haryana police, on Tuesday, arrested four persons in a blind murder case registered at Saha police station. The accused included the brother of the deceased, who allegedly plotted the murder over a property dispute, Ambala SP Abhishek Jorwal said.
The accused have been identified as Gurdev Singh of Chumaru village in Patiala district, Shyam Lal of Haldari village in Ambala district, Devi Lal and Virender Singh alias Binder of Nagla Jattan village in Ambala district.
On Wednesday, they were presented in court, which remanded them in police custody. SP Jorwal said on February 1, Sher Singh of Nagla Jattan village lodged a police complaint saying that his son Harmeet Singh alias Meet was murdered on January 31, 2020.
Harmeet’s body was recovered with serious head injuries on the outskirts of Nagla Jattan village in the evening of Janaury 31, 2020.
A case was registered against the unknown accused under Section 302 (punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code on Sher Singh’s complaint.
SP Jorwal said a team constituted under the leadership of the Saha SHO arrested Gurdev Singh, Shyam Lal, Devi Lal and Virender Singh on February 11.
“During interrogation, it came to light that the accused, Virender is brother of the deceased, Harmeet. The accused disclosed that Harmeet had an illicit relationship with the wife of the accused, Devi Lal, who nursed a grudge against him. Virender would often quarrel with Harmeet over property. Eventually, they joined Shyam Lal and Gurdev Singh to murder Harmeet. Further investigations are on,” SP Jorwal said.
