Good to be back home after 9 days in isolation, says man who recovered from Covid

Gurgaon: A 29-year-old man who had contracted Covid-19 has fully recovered and is back home in Sector 83. He spent nine nights in an isolation ward at a private hospital in the city.
He was released on Monday after he tested negative. “It was an amazing feeling when I was told that I could leave. It feels so good to be back home,” he said.
He works at a MNC in Cyber City. He had returned from the UK on March 18. “I went for medical check-up the next day. They took a sample and I went home. On March 21, the report came out stating that I tested positive for the novel coronavirus.I got admitted to Fortis hospital on March 22. My wife was also in quarantine as she had come in contact with me,” he said.
Talking about his recovery at the hospital, he said, “The doctors were really good. I used to watch TV all day and sometime browsed the internet on my mobile phone. The medical staff was really helpful too.My wife was at home, I used to talk to her for more than six hours a day. That helped me recover quickly.”
“The patients were discharged after they were asymptomatic for at least three days. They have been advised home quarantine for 14 days from the time of discharge,” said Dr Manoj Goel, director (pulmonology), Fortis Memorial Research Institute.
