Haryana: 71 fresh cases, one death in Ambala


AMBALA: Haryana’s Ambala district reported one death due to Covid-19 on Thursday, as a 52-year-old man of Durga Nagar of Ambala City died with comorbidities of diabetes and hypertension.
He was kept on a BiPAP support, said civil surgeon Dr Kuldeep Singh.
Ambala district reported 71 fresh positive cases of Covid-19. The total case tally now reached 9,738, including 314 active cases, said Dr Singh.
Singh said Ambala Cantt reported 34 cases, followed by Ambala City (23), Chourmastpur (7), Shahzadpur (3), Mullana (2), and Barara and Naraingarh (1 each).
As many as 72 patients were discharged, taking the recovery count to 9,306 with the recovery rate of 95.56%, he said.
The civil surgeon added that a total of 118 deaths have been reported in the district so far with the mortality rate of 1.20% and the case doubling rate is 125 days.
“So far, we have collected 1,26,909 samples for Covid-19 testing in Ambala, of which, 94,812 are RT-PCR samples and 32,097 are antigen testing kit samples. In Ambala, we have collected 1,12,508 samples per 10 lakh population,” said Dr Singh.
