Haryana: Elderly couple murdered in Yamunanagar


YAMUNANAGAR: In a brutal attack on an elderly couple, they have been murdered in broad daylight at Bakala village in Bilaspur sub-division of Yamunanagar district of Haryana on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Roshan Lal (72) of Bakala village, a retired baildar from the Public Works Department (PWD) (B&R), Haryana, and his wife from the second marriage Paramjeet Kaur (about 55). They ran a grocery shop at their home in the village.
Sources told miscreants brutally attacked Roshan with some sharp-edged weapon at about 2pm on his neck and head when he was present at his shop and later the attacker went to his home situated nearby and killed his wife Paramjeet.
The villagers said that the couple lived alone at their home and Roshan’s son Rampal from his first wife is living along with his family members separately in the village. Sources said Rampal was out of the village, when the incident took place.
Yamunanagar SP Kamaldeep told media, “It has been informed to us that Paramjeet was Roshan’s second wife and both married about eight-months months ago. His first wife had died several years ago and the family members are also being questioned whether there was any sought of tension in the family or any rivalry.”
