Haryana: Kundu slams clean chit to departments facing graft charges

YAMUNANAGAR: Independent MLA from Meham, Balraj Kundu has accused the Haryana government led by chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar of corruption and announced that he would hold a rally in Rohtak on March 22 to protest.
Kundu slammed the chief minister for giving those accused of corruption a clean chit.
The MLA said the case was in the public domain and people demanded an investigation.
Kundu said, “I gave all relevant proof of corruption in the functioning of the corporation department, sugar mills and urban local bodies (ULB) to the chief minister and ULB minister Anil Vij, who formed a special investigation team (SIT). The SIT just held one meeting and had not even started working.”
Instead of investigating the matter further, the chief minister gave a clean chit to the departments in question during a recent session of the Haryana assembly, he said, adding, “I had left the assembly and when I came to know about the clean chit, I immediately returned and put questions before the government. They did not give a satisfactory answer,” the MLA said.
Comparing the incumbent Haryana state government with the East India Company, Kundu said, “Corruption is prevailing with the full blessing of the Haryana chief minister. The Haryana government is functioning in an arbitrary manner that is similar to the East India Company, which ruled over Hindustan for so many years.”
