Northern Haryana a victim of neglect since 5 years, says former Congress leader Nirmal Singh

AMBALA: On the one year anniversary of his Haryana Democratic Front (HDF), former Congress leader Nirmal Singh of Ambala on Tuesday accused the political parties of doing discrimination with the northern Haryana districts and ignoring the area.
Nirmal said, “In the last five decades, northern Haryana with 27 MLAs has been a victim of neglect. There has been considerable discrimination in this sector in terms of jobs as well as development. Even after 54 years, no veteran leader of northern Haryana could sit on the state chief minister’s (CM) chair”, said Nirmal Singh, who had floated his independent front last year on November 10.
He was addressing his party colleagues, functionaries, and workers present after hoisting his party flag during the inauguration ceremony of a new office at Nehru Complex near Panchayat Bhawan in Ambala city on the foundation day of HDF.
Nirmal said that the HDF will make a strong entry in the elections of the municipal council, zila parishad and municipal corporation to be held in the near future and thereafter will take part in the assembly elections in Haryana and Lok Sabha elections.
Calling upon the youth to play an active role in politics, Nirmal said, “The assembly which is ignored politically is ignored in every field. The youth and women’s wings are being formed with the aim of activating the HDF pan Haryana. The sequence of issuing the lists of appointed officials has been started. I dreamed of setting up HDF, seeing northern Haryana as neglected.”
He asked the workers to get ready for the local body elections and start campaign in their respective areas.
He said that the HDF will support the interests of farmers, laborers, arhtiyas, and traders in the state along with the issues of the youths.
Nirmal’s daughter and HDF leader Chitra Sarwara said, “This front will struggle to get jobs for the youths and development of the area of northern Haryana. After this, no one will be able to ignore this area.”
Two days ago on Sunday, HDF had officially announced the name of Amisha Chawla, wife of former councillor Dilip Chawla as its mayoral candidate for Ambala city municipal corporation (MC) polls, which was expected in the near future.
