Priyanka Gandhi moves to Gurugram flat

NEW DELHI: Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra vacated her Lodhi Estate bungalow on Thursday and moved to a flat in Gurugram as a temporary residence. She will finally shift to a rented accommodation in central Delhi which is being readied.
The housing and urban affairs ministry had set a deadline of July 31 for vacating the house after withdrawing the allotment earlier this month. The government house was cancelled on the grounds that she was no longer an SPG protectee which was the reason for the 1997 allotment.
A Congress statement said the house was handed over to the CPWD after full inspection by engineers and officials of the department about its “good condition”. It said Priyanka also passed on to the CPWD an inventory of privately installed fittings in the house. The party said she has paid all dues and is awaiting final assessment of the licence fee for July. “She will be residing in a temporary accommodation until a more permanent accommodation in Delhi rented by her is ready for use,” the party said.
