Two of Ambala isolated, one with Dubai travel history home quarantined


AMBALA: Two men (28 and 32) of Ambala district, who suspiciously came in contact with a Kuwait return person, have been isolated at wards each at Ambala City and Cantonment civil hospitals by the Haryana health department on Wednesday, told Ambala chief medical officer (CMO), Dr Kuldeep.
Another man (28) of Ambala has been home quarantined who had returned from Dubai on March 1.
Dr Kuldeep told, “On March 5, a man had returned from Kuwait and his brother suffered cold and cough on the same day. Around five days later, the person who suffered cold and cough was asked by his boss to take leave along with his colleague who also showed similar symptoms following the coronavirus threat. The person who returned from Kuwait is reportedly fine and he is presently in Kasauli and ready to undergo medical checkups. However, we have isolated his brother and his brother’s colleague at the isolation wards in Ambala City and Cantonment hospitals. We have sent their samples for coronavirus inspection at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Sector 12, Chandigarh on Wednesday.”
In another case, Dr Kuldeep told, “On March 1, a man returned from Dubai and since then he had been staying under home quarantine. After he suffered some cold and cough, on Wednesday, he voluntarily appeared from the doctors at Ambala City civil hospital and asked them to take his samples for checking Covid19 suspicion. On Wednesday, we have sent his sample too to the PGIMER, Chandigarh for an inspection.”
However, Dr Kuldeep said, “The conditions of all these men are fine and they are under our regular watch. Till the time, we receive their reports, two men will remain isolated at the wards in our hospitals while the third one is home quarantined.”
Report of Kurukshetra residents awaited
Kurukshetra CMO Dr Sukhir said, “We are still waiting for the reports of two Kurukshetra district residents, including a woman and a man who were isolated on Tuesday. We are expecting their reports from PGIMER, Sector 12, Chandigarh by Thursday morning. So far, the condition of both of them is stable and fine.”
