Week after zero case, 12 test +ve for Covid in Nuh

Gurgaon: Around a week after Nuh — earlier one of Haryana’s Covid-19 hotspots — had become its first district to see a complete turnaround, the number of cases has gone up to 12 now. While five of these cases were reported on Tuesday, three of them were recorded on Monday. Remaining four cases were reported late last week. And 11 of these 12 cases are people who either work in Gurgaon or are the contacts of those who work in the city.
Nuh CMO Virender Singh said these patients are people who work in Gurgaon and live in Nuh. “We have conducted tests and put them in isolation,” he said. A health official said unlike Gurgaon, the administration does not have the option of sealing the borders.
Five of these patients are in home quarantine, while six of them are in Covid care centres. One person is in hospital. In all, the district has seen a total of 78 cases, of which 66 have already recovered. Meanwhile, results of 140 people are still awaited.
So far, 5,447 samples have been sent for testing from Nuh, of which 78 have been tested positive while 5,226 have turned to be negative. More than 6,400 people have been put under surveillance, of whom 3,773 people have completed surveillance.
Last Saturday, five patients in Mewat Medical College’s isolation ward were tested negative and released, and after this till late last week, Nuh didn’t have any active case.
